Artist Story
Tia Gagnon Art is a ceramic studio that specializes in high-quality, handcrafted, custom stoneware. With a primary focus on tableware and useful items for the home, I aim to delight clients throughout the Mount Washington Valley, New Hampshire who desire artisanal products. The goal is to elevate the everyday and celebrate the rustic beauty of handmade pottery, meaning that each piece is designed, hand-crafted, and glazed with great care and attention to detail. I believe in the power of simplicity and the ability of functional art to enrich people's lives. This drives me to create pieces that are as stunning as they are practical. In direct collaboration with clients, I bring their space to life, making each bespoke set a true work of art that reflects their individual aesthetic.
An artist at heart, Tia dreamed of opening a studio to bring timeless creations to fruition. She draws inspiration from the majesty of our area which is known for scenic beauty. The Mount Washington Valley is dramatized by the contrasting landscapes of the fertile river valley, the refuge of the northeast forests, the hauntingly deep notches, and the rugged alpine ranges; wild and raw yet somehow maternal. By incorporating organic textures and earthy tones into her wares she nods to that. Handcrafted pottery is a slow, often humbling art form. Tia invites you to join her on her artistic journey as she learns to embody that by being patient with her wheel and her medium as well as herself. She looks to find perfection in imperfection (wabi-sabi) and acceptance of the present moment. From her past and present teachers, she has gleaned that when we build with intention we are rewarded with something surprisingly unique, warm, and worthy of sharing. She hopes you too, can admire that.

Tia lives with her husband in the White Mountains, where they are dedicated to raising their toddlers and cultivating their little homestead. They recently returned home from a year long road-trip exploring our National Parks and our beautiful country from their RV.
